About The Position

The College of Education is seeking an Animation Student Assistant to join its Secondary Education team. This role supports the Asian Language Bilingual Teacher Education Program Consortium (ALBTEP) and the National Resource Center for Asian Languages Center (NRCAL). ALBTEP focuses on supporting K-12 teachers in obtaining Asian bilingual credentials and making these programs more accessible through scholarships. NRCAL aims to improve the nation's capacity for teaching and learning Asian languages by creating publications, educational resources, and professional development opportunities. The Animation Student Assistant will provide assistance with animation and illustrations for programming operations, including seminar presentations, digital storytelling, and marketing. This individual will offer creative support for program activities and coordination assistance for educational events. This is an opportunity for a federal work-study student passionate about animation and Asian language education.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work
  • Follow oral instructions
  • Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
  • Communicate effectively with all levels
  • Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position
  • Experience in Adobe After Effects and various digital tools (Zoom, GoogleDrive, Microsoft Office) required
  • Must be a current CSUF federal work-study student
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Premiere Pro and Youtube content creation are highly desirable
  • A portfolio of past work would be advantageous
  • Students in animation and art preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create animations for digital storytelling in ALBTEP and NRCAL’s programming
  • Prepare videos for YouTube and assist with closed captioning
  • Aid in any animation components of ALBTEP and NRCAL promotional videos
  • Participate in the coordination and execution of ALBTEP and NRCAL activities, events, conferences, meetings that take place on-campus and off- campus
  • Follow CSUF and ASC policies for I.T., liability, audio/video release forms, room and open space reservation, custodial services, facilities, parking, food & delivery orders, other approved vendors, and other related procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
