About The Position

The Dave School of Digital Arts is seeking an experienced and passionate adjunct animation instructor to teach ANIM 3250, Creature Creation and Animation. In this course, students will examine concepts of quadruped body animation, focusing on walking cycles, running and galloping, and jumping. They will develop captivating animated creatures. Furthermore, students will apply character animation techniques for a personalized portfolio character.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Digital Media, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of professional experience in 3D animation and rigging.
  • Proficient in Maya, and relevant rendering software.
  • Strong understanding of key frame animation, rigging principles, and production pipelines.
  • Ability to inspire and guide students toward creative and technical excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching or mentoring experience preferred.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or real-time rendering workflows.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard renderers (Arnold, Redshift, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, skill-based instruction using appropriate software.
  • Teach the foundations of digital animation, rigging, and motion.
  • Guide students through practical exercises, project development, and critiques.
  • Support students in building demo reels and portfolios.
  • Provide consistent feedback and foster an encouraging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to maintain and refine curriculum standards.
