About The Position

Under general supervision, the Animal Shelter Technician will ensure the animal kennels are clean and ready for occupancy. Employees in this job class are responsible for daily cleaning tasks that facilitate the animal shelter to house animals for public interaction while following all safety and policies of the County. This position requires awareness of animal safety and us of special cleaning agents for an animal environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily sanitizing/disinfection of kennels using water hoses and various cleaning products.
• Replacing bedding in kennels.
• Washing and folding laundry.
• General clean up and organization of designated working spaces.
• Follow thorough sanitization protocols for kennels, work and play areas, and equipment
• Comply with all safety protocols and with the animal shelter’s procedures, policies, and rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
