The Animal Research Compliance Coordinator administers and coordinates the University's Animal Care and Use Program by providing regulatory expertise, compliance oversight, and administrative leadership in support of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The position serves as a subject matter resource for investigators, research personnel, committee members, and institutional leadership regarding federal regulations and institutional policies governing the humane care and use of animals in research, teaching, and testing. Working independently, the coordinator interprets and applies complex regulations, ensures timely and effective management of Animal Use Protocols throughout the project lifecycle, administers the University's Animal Occupational Health and Safety Program (AOHSP), coordinates Controlled Substance compliance activities for animal research, supports inspections and regulatory reporting, and promotes continuous improvement of the University's animal research compliance program. This position involves on-call status.
