About The Position

The Animal Law Enforcement (ALE) Data Entry Support Specialists are key to the successful completion of the Department's Mission, Vision, Values and Goals. Employees assigned to this Division are expected to perform a variety of support functions to include Data Entry, Quality Control, and Mail Processing. HSPPR's Mission Statement: HSPPR offers compassionate care to animals, supports safe communities, and provides socially conscious sheltering. The Animal Law Enforcement Support Specialist supports HSPPR's mission by providing critical administrative and operational support that helps Animal Law Enforcement serve animals and the community effectively and efficiently. Through accurate data entry, quality control, licensing support, case documentation, and communication with the public, this role helps promote safe communities, responsible pet ownership, and compliance with animal welfare laws and ordinances. By ensuring records, reports, and processes are handled with professionalism and accuracy, the position contributes to compassionate care for animals and socially conscious sheltering practices.

Requirements

  • Sincere interest in the mission, vision, values, and goals of The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region and Animal Law Enforcement
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to effectively read, write, interpret, communicate, perform basic problem solving, and perform basic math as commonly expected from completion of a High School Diploma or Equivalent Education
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License and insurable driving record
  • Have no convictions for felonies or crimes of moral turpitude
  • Pass various qualifying exams and background investigations
  • Ability to perform under stress and perform abilities consistent with administrative support functions
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with peers, supervisors, and the public

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of previous customer service experience preferred
  • 1 year of previous data entry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completes preliminary quality control and reports issues to the Officer's direct supervisor
  • Completes data entry in Network Fleet (Reveal) after services are completed on Animal Law Enforcement vehicles
  • Seals records when requests are received from the courts
  • Assists with uploading evidence to Sharepoint and LEA
  • Enters new addresses into the Chameleon database
  • Monitors the ALE inbox, enters calls for service, submits Crimestoppers dispositions, and responds to Accela requests
  • Edits and submits bite reports to the Health Department
  • Uploads various documents to Chameleon
  • Completes various duties associated with animal licensing programs for all divisions of the Animal Law Enforcement Department
  • Assists the Accounting Department in triweekly mail processing
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in entering pet licenses
  • Assists in the data entry of monthly rabies reports received from local veterinary clinics
  • Prepares weekly Bite Blotter data
  • Collects subpoenas and creates court packets
  • Assists with summons and warning data entry
  • Update HSPPR records with case dispositions on summonses
  • Represents Animal Law Enforcement and the contracted jurisdictions in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Complies with all Animal Law Enforcement policies and procedures and training guidelines
  • Assists citizens with interpretation and understanding of animal ordinances, department procedures, and responsible pet ownership
  • Promotes Humane Society programs, services, and development
  • Stays abreast of current industry trends, changes in ordinances, and policy and procedures
  • Keeps Animal Law Enforcement Leadership informed of progress and potential conflicts
  • As assigned, safely and properly trains, coaches and assists trainees and individuals completing cross training with all of Animal Control Officer positions
  • Promptly reports violations of policy and procedure and/or conduct unbecoming to Animal Services Leadership
  • Strives to maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Department and/or Leadership
