About The Position

The Animal Lab Tech prepares tissue, blood, and other specimens for routine testing; participates in the maintenance and identification of animals used in experiments; assists with animal surgical procedures as needed; records results and reports unusual outcomes; collects, enters, and reports data; demonstrates laboratory techniques to designated lab personnel; and assists with maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies. The position is limited tenure.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to carry out basic routine techniques independently.
• Desire to work closely with laboratory animals.
• Above-average manual dexterity.
• Ability to endure exposure to heat, noise, dust, dander, animal bites, and chemicals.

Nice To Haves

• Additional relevant laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with animal welfare practices.
• Computer experience.
