Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty enforcing laws and ordinances concerning animal care and rabies control. This position has department-specific responsibility and acts as the County Enforcement Agent for Animal Control. The role involves communicating professionally with the public and colleagues, operating a vehicle safely to patrol assigned areas, and enforcing county and state ordinances related to animal regulations. Responsibilities include responding to calls, inspecting premises, capturing and transporting animals, providing first aid, investigating violations, preparing court documentation, and testifying in court. The position also requires generating accurate reports, maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment, coordinating with other agencies, assisting with vaccination clinics, and providing information to the public on animal control laws and care. Regular attendance is required, and the role includes on-call emergency coverage as assigned.
