The Animal Caretaker will provide care to security dogs and their kennels, ensuring a clean and safe environment. This role involves adherence to all animal safety and welfare protocols and requires the ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures.

Requirements

• Comfort working around dogs and adherence to all animal safety and welfare protocols
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including: standing and walking for extended periods and bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Lifting, pushing, or pulling supplies and equipment as required for kennel maintenance
• Ability to work in environments with animals, including exposure to noise, odors, and cleaning/disinfecting agents
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to accurately complete required cleaning and sanitation records
• Reliability and punctuality, including the ability to work assigned shifts and required weekend schedules
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearance and attend customer required trainings

Responsibilities

• Provide care to security dogs and their kennels.
• Responsible for care of animals, kennels and surrounding areas.
• Disinfect kennel runs with a veterinary approved disinfectant including vacant kennel runs.
• Scrub kennel run floor, caulking, sidewalls, and bed with disinfectant solution.
• Clean and disinfect the interior and exterior of all chain link fencing. This includes the top and bottom rails, interior and exterior of kennel run.
• Maintain record of completion of kennel run cleaning/sanitizing on kennel cleaning record.
• Scrub/disinfect kennel walkway and office floors bi-monthly.
