About The Position

The Animal Care Technician will maintain a clean and sanitary City of Conroe Animal Shelter facility and will provide food and water to the animals in the shelter. The Animal Care Technician will assist with other daily operations as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to communicate with the public in a professional manner at all times
• Must be able to read and write
• Basic math skills are required
• Must be able to work around animals for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work emergency and on-call hours
• Must be able to work weekends
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position
• Must pass background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening
• A motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam may also be required
• Safety-sensitive positions remain subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hire

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working with an Animal Shelter or Animal Clinic is preferred
