About The Position
Cache County is looking for an Animal Care Specialist to help in our Animal Shelter. The Animal Care Specialist will perform a combination of customer service and animal care duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Animal handling and husbandry experience
- Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of animal handling, care, and treatment
- General office procedures and methods
- Basic cash handling, fund reconciliations, and deposit procedures
Responsibilities
- Providing information and assisting members of the public.
- Maintain accurate records of all animals that come in or out of the shelter.
- Contact owners.
- Answer phone calls and emails.
- Collect and process required fees.
- Provide care to the animals, including bathing and general grooming.
- Feeding and watering.
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages, food bowls, and litterboxes.
- Monitoring the overall health and well-being of animals in the shelter's care.
