About The Position

Animal Care Monitor (Full-Time, Overnight) Schedule: 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., five days per week Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitor animal areas, facility systems, and life support systems overnight. Conduct routine rounds of designated areas and observe for any changes or concerns. Recognize and report changes in animal behavior, building systems, and equipment performance. Identify patterns or irregularities in the collection, facility, and life support systems. Provide accurate status updates at shift change and communicate overnight system changes to managerial and other department staff. Take appropriate corrective actions as needed or trained. Work independently during overnight hours. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Animal Care. Comply with all safety practices, Animal Care policies, practices, and procedures, employee handbook policies, and all applicable governmental and AZA standards. Requirements: A one-year certificate from a college or technical school is required, or three to six months of related experience and/or training. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that enables successful performance of the essential functions of the position will also be considered.   Other: This full-time position offers an attractive benefits and vacation package, including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, as well as a 403(b)-retirement plan with a 100% match on the first 5% contributed.
