About The Position

Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital of West Toronto is hiring a full-time Animal Care Attendant (ACA) in Mississauga, ON. This is an opportunity to build your veterinary hospital experience while working alongside Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) and emergency veterinarians in a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital. Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital of West Toronto is a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital serving Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area. Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
1+ year of veterinary hospital experience
Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, including days, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Strong client communication and teamwork skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work effectively with different personalities and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Genuine interest in supporting pets, clients, and the veterinary care team
Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with hands-on patient care
Support patients independently and as part of the veterinary care team
Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming animal hospital environment
Communicate with clients and provide updates, support, and reassurance during stressful situations
Assist with billing, payments, and light administrative responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the emergency and specialty team to support efficient patient care
Adapt to changing priorities and patient needs in a fast-paced emergency veterinary environment
