Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Pet Palace Cleveland. This hands-on role involves caring for pet guests by maintaining clean, safe spaces, providing meals and fresh water, monitoring animals’ health and behavior, supervising play, and assisting with brushing and bathing. The position also includes handling laundry and pet belongings and reporting unusual observations to management. The work is physically active and involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Shifts are scheduled from 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- Maintain a cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Be willing to get hands-on and dirty while caring for animals.
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
- Be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing their elimination habits.
- Report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
