About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant for Smoky Dog Lodge. This role is for individuals passionate about animals who want to turn their love for pets into a rewarding job. Destination Pet is a community focused on elevating the love and lives of pet families, offering services like daycare, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services. The goal is to make pets feel at home and their humans feel at ease.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
• Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
• Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but if you're brand new and eager to learn—we want to meet you!
• A willingness to get your hands dirty (literally).

• A borderline-obsessive love for animals.
• A cool, calm, and professional demeanor—even when a Great Dane steals your mop.

Responsibilities

• Keeping pet enclosures and play areas spotless, safe, and sanitized.
• Serving meals and fresh water.
• Monitoring the health, happiness, and "poop" of every pet guest.
• Reporting anything unusual to the General or Assistant Manager.
• Supervising playtime.
• Assisting with brushing and bath time.
• Handling laundry and belongings.
• Making tails wag.
• Other duties as assigned.
