About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant to join their team at The Yard Dog. This role involves providing care for pets, ensuring their comfort and safety, and maintaining a clean environment. The company emphasizes a team-oriented approach and a passion for animals, aiming to elevate the lives of pet families through various services including day care, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services. The goal is to make pets feel at home and their owners feel at ease.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
• Exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and "accidents" is part of the gig.
• Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.

Nice To Haves

• Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus.

• A cool, calm, and professional demeanor—even when a Great Dane steals your mop.
• A willingness to get your hands dirty (literally).

Responsibilities

• Keeping pet enclosures and play areas spotless, safe, and sanitized.
• Serving up meals and fresh water.
• Monitoring the health, happiness, and behavior of every pet guest.
• Reporting anything unusual to the General or Assistant Manager.
• Supervising playtime.
• Assisting with brushing and bath time.
• Handling laundry and belongings.
• Making tails wag.
• Other duties as assigned.
