ANGEL TREE WORKER
About The Position
This position is responsible for providing support for the seasonal Angel Tree program. The worker will lift, carry, load, and unload a variety of donations, serve as an attendant at Angel Tree sites, and interact with donors, responding to questions about the donation process. Responsibilities also include assisting with the clean-up, lay out, and set up of the warehouse, and assisting with pick-ups from malls or corporations. Data entry of recipient information is also a key part of this role. The Angel Tree Worker will respond to questions about the Angel Tree program and maintain good relationships with donors and recipients to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army. Travel to Angel Tree sites to represent The Salvation Army and deliver supplies is required. The role involves assisting with angel tree pick-ups from drop-off locations, unloading donations at the Christmas warehouse, and assisting recipients with loading gifts into vehicles. The worker will lift and stack donations in vehicles and in the warehouse, distribute donations to their proper place, and organize donated items. Assisting in cleaning and maintaining the Angel Tree displays, Christmas warehouse, and loading dock area is also part of the duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing
- Ability to stand in one location for extended periods
