Short-term Assignment - Anesthesiology - Amherst
About The Position
Nova Scotia Health is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist for a short-term 6-month assignment at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, located in Upper Nappan on the outskirts of Amherst, Nova Scotia. This role involves providing care and coordination within secondary and tertiary level healthcare, operating within the bylaws of Nova Scotia Health Authority, and participating in quality improvement activities. The position requires a full scope of practice to serve patients in the Northern Zone, covering general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and ENT. The assignment is from June 2026 to December 2026.
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
- Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or proof of alternative coverage.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and coordination of community-based care, and secondary and tertiary level health care.
- Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
- Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.
- Work a full scope of practice as an anesthesiologist to provide care to the patients of Northern Zone. Surgical services include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, ENT.
- Participating in on-call and able to respond to urgent matters within 20 minutes of being called.
