About The Position

Orlando Health is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Anesthesiologist to join a collaborative team at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. This institute includes an outpatient surgery center and an inpatient orthopedic hospital, offering a diverse case mix from diagnostic orthopedic procedures to complex total joint replacement and spine surgery. The role involves delivering exceptional patient care, adhering to up-to-date practices, and contributing to the organization's mission and vision. Responsibilities include collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals, evaluating and formulating anesthetic plans, performing peripheral nerve blocks, supervising anesthesia providers, and administering anesthesia with continuous patient monitoring.

Requirements

  • Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Anesthesiology Residency program.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Association
  • Unrestricted FL Medical License (or the ability to obtain one) and DEA
  • Open to new graduates and experienced Anesthesiologist

Nice To Haves

  • Training in advanced regional anesthesia and nerve blocks highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborative member of anesthesia department to work with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals
  • Evaluate and formulate anesthetic plans for patients undergoing surgical and/or diagnostic care
  • Peripheral Nerve Blocks required.
  • Supervision/Medical Direction of certified anesthetists delivering anesthesia
  • Administer anesthesia intraoperatively with continuous monitoring of vital signs and titration of anesthesia needed
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
  • Attends and participates in departmental meetings and educational initiatives
  • Teach student anesthetists, residents, fellows or other learners
