About The Position

Join a physician-led anesthesia team in East Texas offering an exceptional work-life balance with a unique 12-days-on, 9-days-off schedule. This anesthesiologist position provides 156 days off annually while maintaining competitive compensation at $600K as a 1099 independent contractor. Work alongside experienced CRNAs in a stable, patient-focused hospital environment with a diverse surgical case mix and predictable scheduling. We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist to join our established anesthesia care team. This permanent position offers clinical autonomy, supervision of tenured certified registered nurse anesthetists, and a supportive practice environment. The role features regional anesthesia opportunities with training available, malpractice coverage with tail insurance included, and a balanced caseload that keeps your clinical skills sharp without burnout.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Completion of accredited anesthesiology residency program
  • Board certified or board eligible in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • Eligible for Texas medical licensure or current Texas medical license
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Comfortable supervising certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs)

Nice To Haves

  • Regional anesthesia proficiency (nerve blocks, epidurals, spinal anesthesia)
  • Experience in anesthesia care team supervision model
  • Fellowship training in regional anesthesia or pain management
  • Previous hospital-based anesthesia experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive anesthesia services across a broad spectrum of surgical cases
  • Supervise and collaborate with experienced CRNAs in an anesthesia care team model
  • Perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative care management
  • Administer general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care
  • Participate in a structured 12-days-on, 9-days-off rotation schedule
  • Maintain clinical excellence and patient safety standards
  • Collaborate with surgeons and perioperative staff to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records
