About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking board eligible/board certified anesthesiologists to join their Emory University Hospital Midtown Surgical Specialties team. This team performs 22,000 anesthetics per year and serves a mix of academic and community providers. The Emory University Hospital Midtown Maternity Center also has a growing obstetrical service. As a faculty member, physicians will engage in clinical care, research, and education of medical students and future anesthesiologists. The anesthesiology program includes residents and fellows in ACGME programs.

Requirements

• M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
• Eligible to apply for a medical license in the state of Georgia.
• American Board of Anesthesiology board certified/eligible.
• Initial academic rank is based on prior experience and a detailed CV review.
• Criteria for faculty appointment include excellence across clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with OB anesthesia a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality clinical care.
• Participate in innovative research.
• Educate medical students, future anesthesiologists, and anesthetists.
• Supervise anesthesia residents on advanced OB and ENT rotations.
• Supervise OMFS residents in the main OR.
• Full call responsibilities split between main OR and L&D.
