This role involves assisting in patient procedures, monitoring anesthesia, managing patient care from pre-op to recovery, and handling administrative tasks. Requirements

  • Knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to formulate anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Skill in monitoring anesthesia and troubleshooting complications.
  • Proficiency in intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform physical exams and accurately assess vital signs.
  • Understanding of normal vital parameters.
  • Experience setting up intravenous fluids and CRI’s.
  • Proficiency with medical math.
  • Ability to manage appointments, obtain histories, perform medical record keeping, invoicing, and patient discharges.
  • Comfortable with aseptic technique for fluid management.
  • Familiarity with operating various brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshooting errors.

  • VTS credentialing
  • Advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions.
  • Perform intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance.
  • Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
  • Set up intravenous fluids and CRI’s.
  • Expand knowledge and skillset in advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
  • Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
  • Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
  • Disconnect and connect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically.
  • Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
  • Take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery).
