About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician/Technologist is responsible for procuring and maintaining supplies and equipment used in anesthesia care and ensuring they are available when needed. The role assists professional nursing staff and anesthesiologists during intubation and extubation, helps prepare and place special invasive and non-invasive lines and procedures, and provides room turnover for anesthesia and other procedure or operating-room areas as time and skill allow. The position is based at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, a 367-bed regional medical center in Tacoma, Washington. It is a 1.0 FTE day-shift position with four 10-hour shifts on variable days and some holiday work required.

Requirements

BLS certification is required.
Graduation from an accredited anesthesia technician/technologist program is preferred.
Current certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT), or CNA, MA, or EMT certification, is preferred.
One year of experience in an Anesthesia Tech position may be considered in lieu of certification.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from an accredited anesthesia technician/technologist program.
Current ASATT Anesthesia Technician certification, or CNA, MA, or EMT certification.
