About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA). This role is located at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando, FL, within the WPH L&D Anesthesia department. The position is Variable Full-Time, working 3, 12-hour shifts during the day. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • At least 1 year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Restocks the anesthesia supplies, equipment and drugs in the operating room after each case.
  • Maintains and assures adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas and is responsible for ordering these supplies.
  • Cleans and maintains the equipment utilized in the delivery of anesthetic service.
  • Sets up all invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia.
  • Responds and assists Anesthesiologist/CRNA with all perioperative anesthesia emergencies.
  • Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills defined by the Surgical Services specific competency list.
  • Communicates appropriate information to the Anesthesiologist/CRNA and perioperative nursing staff.
  • Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
  • May have limited access to areas storing medications.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
