About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our surgical services team. In this role, you will work closely with anesthesia providers and the perioperative team to ensure equipment, supplies, and the patient-care environment are prepared for safe, efficient anesthesia care. The Anesthesia Technician plays an essential role in supporting anesthesia personnel before, during, and after procedures. This position prepares and maintains anesthesia equipment and supplies, assists with patient care and procedures, troubleshoots equipment, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred
Previous clinical or healthcare experience preferred; 1 year or more of clinical experience is preferred
Active status on the State of Maine CNA Registry preferred
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification is required within 6 months of hire
Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to calibrate and troubleshoot equipment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced, collaborative perioperative team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods, moving equipment, and assisting with patient transport and positioning

Responsibilities

Cleaning and setting up all types of anesthesia equipment.
Assisting with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV insertion, invasive lines, and airway management.
Providing daily equipment maintenance and addressing malfunctions.
Facilitating efficient and safe room transitions.
