About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician assists medical staff and plans, secures, and arranges the equipment and supplies needed for anesthesia in the operating room. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position interacts with patients, their families, and hospital medical staff in various departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of basic pharmacology, sterile processing, basic ECG, and arterial monitoring.
• Knowledge of blood gas electrolyte analyzers and anesthesia equipment.
• Understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on call when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests, report findings, and maintain required documentation.
• Accompany patients during transport or transfer as needed.
• Stock and clean medications, supplies, and equipment used by anesthesia staff, and ensure they are properly set up.
• Prepare suction equipment, IV solutions, and pressure bags before each patient arrives.
• Maintain the anesthesiology lab and necessary supplies.
• Assist medical staff and residents as requested.
• Perform other duties related to anesthesia as assigned.
