About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Anesthesiologist in all departments and with all anesthesia procedures, including expediting patient flow through the perioperative area, maintaining patient safety, developing and maintaining external (patient, surgeon) and internal (Anesthesiologist, staff) customer satisfaction. Responsible for set up, operation and some maintenance of specialized equipment, including life support. This position also assists the Anesthesiologist with evaluation and monitoring of the patients during the perioperative phase. Assists in sterile or isolation areas.

Requirements

Secondary education in a medical or science-based discipline
Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification within 90 days of hire
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited program i.e. EMT, paramedic, RT, or Anesthesia Technology (AT) program
ACLS Provider - American Heart Association upon hire
PALS Provider - American Heart Association upon hire
Anesthesia Technician certification (ASATT) upon hire
1 year of experience working in a similar capacity in an Anesthesia Department in a tertiary healthcare facility

Responsibilities

Set up, operation and some maintenance of specialized equipment, including life support
Assisting the Anesthesiologist with evaluation and monitoring of the patients during the perioperative phase
Assisting in sterile or isolation areas
Participating in "call" rotation for continuous Perioperative Support Technologists (PST) at night, on weekends, and holidays
