Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Three (3) years’ experience as an anesthesia technician required
One (1) year experience working within a CTOR/CVOR as an anesthesia technician required.
Technical skills necessary to perform duties
Proficiency in all departmental computer systems and data bases.
BLS required

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree from an accredited program in Anesthesiology Technology preferred.
Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) preferred.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, is responsible for coordinating and providing technical support to the Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to ensuring availability of equipment and supplies and assisting with direct patient care activities.
Responsible for provision, and technical function of anesthesia machines, ventilators, monitoring equipment, fluid warmers, patient warming systems and other types of anesthesia equipment that may be age specific.
Responsible for provision and stocking of supplies for anesthesia administration, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment (such as fiberoptic bronchoscopes), as well as troubleshooting various types of anesthesia equipment.
