Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • CPR Certification.
  • English.
  • Employee must be able to cover all specialty areas where anesthesia is administered, and must exhibit excellent communication skills, understanding by responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Critical creative thinking, planning, problem solving, and decision making are all responsibilities in this position, as well as, prioritizing responsibilities throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Operating Room experience would be helpful to this position, such as a clinical technician, PCA, CNA, Pharmacy Tech, or any related field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages activities related to anesthesia department.
  • Maintains anesthesia machines and equipment.
  • Sets up operating rooms with required anesthesia and physiologic monitoring equipment in preparation for anesthesia in surgical and obstetric suites.
  • Removes and cleans equipment at end of procedures (if possible) and restocks anesthesia supplies for subsequent use.
  • Provides assistance to central supply as needed.
  • Assists with turnover changing and wiping down anesthesia machine and cart also any equipment that might be in the room. This includes anesthesia circuit, suction tubing, and EKG leads.
  • Troubleshoots anesthesia equipment.
  • Set up any special equipment that might be needed for the case.
  • Performing the leak test on the anesthesia machine.
  • Assist with setting up the Belmont, and or Level One rapid infuser.
  • Provide support to the Anesthesia provider during emergency trauma cases, or called upon as needed.
