About The Position

The Anesthesia Tech demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA). Located on the downtown Orlando Health campus, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies provides specialized care that covers all facets of women’s health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to general obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer welcomes nearly 14,000 babies each year. Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• 1-2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech

Responsibilities

• Restocks the anesthesia supplies, equipment and drugs in the operating room after each case.
• Maintains and assures adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas and is responsible for ordering these supplies.
• Cleans and maintains the equipment utilized in the delivery of anesthetic service.
• Sets up all invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia.
• Responds and assists Anesthesiologist/CRNA with all perioperative anesthesia emergencies.
• Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills defined by the Surgical Services specific competency list.
• Communicates appropriate information to the Anesthesiologist/CRNA and perioperative nursing staff.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
