Anesthesia Tech
About The Position
The Anesthesia Tech collaborates with anesthesia providers, Biomedical engineering, Surgical department leadership, and materials management to maintain the inventory of anesthesia-related supplies and equipment, clean and organize as needed, assist with patient transport, room/equipment turnover between patients, and perform basic checks and preventative maintenance on anesthesia equipment. This role assists the Anesthesiologist and licensed personnel in patient care delivery and performs other duties as required. The position is responsible for all anesthesia sites within Doctors Hospital of Manteca facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent OR experience in an acute care setting.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other applicable regulations, including patient confidentiality and risk management.
- Ability to communicate clearly and with courtesy, following lines of authority as appropriate.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunications in documentation, tracking and conveying information.
- Ability to retain composure while working in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
- Analytical and grammatical skills necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Anesthesia Technician preferred.
- Experience with healthcare materials management processes preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the inventory of anesthesia related supplies and equipment.
- Clean and organize anesthesia related supplies and equipment as needed.
- Assist with patient transport.
- Assist with room/equipment turnover between patients.
- Perform basic checks and preventative maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
- Assist Anesthesiologist and licensed personnel in the delivery of patient care.
- Perform other duties as required.
