About The Position

Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando FL is seeking a full-time Anesthesia RN to work Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role involves the practice of professional nursing, which includes acts requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skill based upon applied principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences. This encompasses observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness. It also includes the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a licensed practitioner, and the supervision and teaching of other personnel. This description is based on the 2016 Florida Statutes, Title XXXII, Regulation of Professions and Occupations.

Requirements

  • ASN required
  • Active Florida or multi-state RN license, required
  • Minimum of 6 months of RN experience required
  • Valid American Heart Association BLS Certification; must be valid for 90 days post start date.
  • Valid American Heart Association PALS

Nice To Haves

  • National certification in area of clinical specialty
  • Experience in pediatric specialty area

Responsibilities

  • Implements the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family.
  • Utilizes policies, procedures, guidelines, and reliable methods to make clinical practice decisions.
  • Independently develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies clinical practice matching formal knowledge with critical thinking and nursing skills.
  • Collects and interprets complex patient data with clinical events to make clinical decisions to meet individual patient and family needs.
  • Recognizes and responds to the dynamic situation while sorting out extraneous detail and exercises clinical judgment based on an immediate grasp of the whole picture for the patient population of the assigned clinical area.
  • Engages in multidisciplinary collaboration, proactively seeks expert consultation, and delegates to other clinicians, as appropriate, while using evidence-based guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge seeking behaviors and identifies clinical questions.
  • Seeks advice, resources, and/or education opportunities to improve patient care.
