About The Position

Comcast Technology and Product Experience (TPX) is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join the Connected Living Camera Client Engineering team. This group is responsible for customer-facing mobile application development for Comcast’s Home Security Camera product offerings. This includes the native Android Xfinity application, which primarily handles our cloud enabled Internet Gateway for millions of homes but is expanding to become Comcast’s primary mobile app with new features such as bill pay. We are currently working remotely and will be following a flexible hybrid model in the future. This role is also open to fully remote or virtual US-based candidates. We’re looking for an Android Engineer to join the Camera Client Squad and help build video and camera experiences used by millions of Xfinity customers. In this role, you’ll develop high-quality mobile features, collaborate across teams, and contribute to a modern Android codebase powering real-time streaming and device interactions. This is an ideal opportunity for engineers who enjoy building user-facing features, working with video technology, and contributing to scalable mobile architectures.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional Android development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with MVVM or similar architecture patterns
  • Solid debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with video playback or streaming (e.g., ExoPlayer, HLS, WebRTC, RTSP)
  • Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development tools
  • Understanding of Android permissions, privacy, and app lifecycle
  • Experience building or maintaining large-scale consumer applications

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Android features for camera and video experiences
  • Collaborate with product, backend, and device teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Contribute to app architecture, design discussions, and technical decisions
  • Write clean, maintainable Kotlin code using modern Android frameworks

  • Debug and resolve production issues
  • Participate in code reviews and support a culture of continuous improvement
