About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team. The role requires expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and strong knowledge of Java. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mobile application architecture, security best practices, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with API integration, Google Play Store management, and version control is essential. This position is based in New York and requires 5 days a week in the office.

Requirements

  • 5 years of professional Android development experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin.
  • Strong knowledge of Java.
  • Hands-on experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture, or MVI patterns.
  • Experience implementing biometric authentication, encryption, certificate pinning, OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect.
  • Proficiency with JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, Robolectric.
  • Experience setting up automated build and deployment pipelines.
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data (WebSockets).
  • Experience with Google Play Console, app signing, staged rollouts, and release management.
  • Proficiency with Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience building mobile applications in the financial services, wealth management, or brokerage industry.
  • Familiarity with financial data standards (FIX protocol, market data feeds).
  • Experience with cross-platform parity projects (replicating iOS apps on Android or vice versa).
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for financial mobile apps (SOC 2, data privacy regulations).
  • Experience with analytics and crash reporting tools (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Datadog).
  • Familiarity with design systems and maintaining consistency across platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility testing tools and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Android applications with a focus on Kotlin and Java.
  • Implement mobile application architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, or MVI.
  • Integrate security features including biometric authentication, encryption, certificate pinning, and OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect.
  • Write unit and integration tests using JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, and Robolectric.
  • Set up and manage automated build and deployment pipelines using CI/CD.
  • Integrate with REST APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data sources like WebSockets.
  • Manage app releases and updates through the Google Play Console, including app signing, staged rollouts, and release management.
  • Utilize Git for version control, working with platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
