About The Position

The Ancillary Services and Safety Supervisor shall report to the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) of Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia (IHCWV) and provides leadership, personnel management, and technical oversight for diagnostic imaging, clinical laboratory, and other ancillary programs. This role transitions from execution to accountability, supervising staff compliance, directing safety programs, and managing daily ancillary workflows. The supervisor ensures total alignment with federal, state, and institutional regulations while fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence. As a Radiological Technologist, you will provide imaging services to our community in various modalities necessary to use ionizing radiation to produce quality radiographic images. These responsibilities involve participation in various diagnostic technical procedures, which deliver quality care to patients of all ages. As the IHCWV Safety Officer, you are involved in all IHCWV safety-related activities, including coordinating and implementing the emergency preparedness plan.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited school of Radiology Technologists – Associate degree in radiology is required.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a charge, lead, or supervisory role.
Licensed in the State of West Virginia, active ARRT (Radiology) certification in Radiography, and CPR Certification as required by state regulations and IHCWV policy.
Proven ability to manage or collaborate with diverse teams of technical and clinical professionals.
Advanced problem-solving skills for addressing regulatory gaps and operational bottlenecks.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Radiologic Technology, or Healthcare Management preferred.
Previous experience in a clinic or urgent care setting is preferred.
Ability to perform venipuncture and lab specimen collections experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Emergency Preparedness is preferred.
ASCP/AMT (Laboratory) professional certification.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily activities of ancillary staff, safety technicians, or designated lab safety coordinators.
Conduct annual performance reviews, manage scheduling, and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Lead safety committees and serve as the primary point of contact for safety within the organization. Promote a strong organizational safety culture by fostering employee engagement, participation, and ownership in health and safety initiatives. Encourage reporting of safety concerns and reward positive safety behaviors.
Direct compliance initiatives for HRSA, CLIA, OSHA, state radiation control agencies, and any other applicable federal or state regulatory agencies.
Lead regular safety audits and inspections, generate deficiency reports, and hold teams accountable for corrective actions.
Implement and monitor adherence to safety policies, procedures, and radiation protection programs.
Serve as the escalation point for complex quality control (QC) failures or equipment malfunctions in POCT, imaging, and other ancillary services.
Manage contracts, service agreements, and communications with diagnostic equipment vendors, calibration specialists, and other vendors for ancillary services.
Performs diagnostic X-rays on patients of all ages, adhering to safety protocols. Prepares patients, explains procedures, positions them accurately, and applies radiation protection measures (shielding, ALARA principles). Operates, cleans, and performs quality checks on X-ray equipment and digital imaging software (PACS/RIS). Assist in scheduling patients and provide assistance in transporting patients with the center by collaborating with providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Accurately documents and scans imaging reports into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Manage and assist with phlebotomy and laboratory functions while adhering to all safety protocols. Perform venipunctures, capillary punctures, and finger pricks for patients of all ages, including infants and the elderly. Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and clean work areas. Enter lab orders, results, and patient data into EHR systems. Prepare patients by clearly explaining procedures.
