This position provides scheduling, registration and patient charge services to ancillary departments. The role involves effective pre-registration, registration and scheduling of multiple patient appointments, managing additions and cancellations, and accurately gathering and inputting patient demographic and financial information. The specialist will also verify benefits, obtain authorizations, review schedules daily, and enter patient charges. Additionally, they will act as a liaison between providers and patients regarding insurance benefits, explain procedure information, and perform check-in/check-out functions. The role also includes liaising with clinical and business staff, training new team members, and maintaining flexibility in work schedule availability. Participation in department meetings and committees is also expected.
