About The Position

This position provides general support for the Anatomic Pathology function. The role involves various tasks related to the handling and recording of slides, mail, and laboratory records, as well as client communication and potential participation in QA/QC activities.

Requirements

1-year related experience preferred
Knowledge of basic computer functions
Data Entry skills
Good clerical, organizational, phone and communication skills
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Nice To Haves

Quest LIS knowledge is desirable

Responsibilities

Filing and retrieval of slides as requested
Electronic recording of slides into Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Mail handling and distribution within the department
Storage of laboratory records according to established record management protocol
May load/unload slides onto the Focal Point instrument
Print/Collate History Match
Manage process for requesting recuts, special stains and immunohistochemistry stains
May participate in QA/QC support activities
May contact clients to request additional information
May handle incoming calls, responding in a professional and timely manner
Other duties as assigned
