About The Position

Atari is experiencing significant growth in the games industry and is seeking an Analytics Manager for its Commercial team. This role is unique, focusing on operating and improving an internal AI system called the “Commercial Brain” which scopes, runs, and self-checks commercial analyses. The ideal candidate will be highly autonomous, rigorous, and excited about leveraging AI for efficiency. This position offers significant ownership and fast decision-making, operating closer to a startup environment. The role involves deep analysis, providing judgment, insights, and commercial recommendations that directly impact revenue, sitting at the intersection of AI, data analysis, commercial strategy, and financial modeling. The position reports to the Director of Commercial and collaborates closely with the Business Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in analytics, commercial strategy, or a related field.
  • High autonomy: ability to receive a problem, figure out the approach, and come back with a proposal.
  • Experience in a startup pace environment with thin process and end-to-end ownership.
  • Intellectual honesty: willingness to identify and address flaws in analyses, including one's own.
  • Verification mindset: treating confidence and formatting as reasons for increased scrutiny and maintaining written reasoning.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and an understanding of their limitations.
  • Ability to build and iterate upon AI-assisted workflows.
  • Strong statistical foundations, including identifying analysis breakdowns, confounded variables, and aggregation errors.
  • Ability to explain methodology under scrutiny.
  • Basic financial modeling skills, including building business cases from first principles without guidance.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform large, messy datasets into clean, credible output.
  • Ability to read and identify errors in Python and SQL.
  • Clear writing skills, ensuring meaning is unambiguous for humans and AI agents.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Commercial Brain, including scoping analyses, interrogating its reasoning, and identifying errors and unstated assumptions.
  • Serve as the second reviewer for analyses, ensuring verification is a primary deliverable.
  • Own the empirical loop by recording expected outcomes for significant decisions and measuring actuals against them.
  • Maintain data trust by reconciling sales data against platform ground truth, adjudicating defects with data providers, and ensuring data integrity for analyses.
  • Build automations to reduce manual analytical work and enable focus on higher-order problems.
  • Own recurring per-game analyses such as pricing, discounting, regional performance, and lifecycle dynamics.
  • Develop and challenge analytical methods, turning them into repeatable AI skills.
  • Independently define approaches, structures, and outputs for ambiguous commercial questions, translating them into AI context and repeatable skills.
  • Build business cases for commercial decisions, including game forecasting, platform deals, bundle strategies, and portfolio opportunities.
  • Develop metrics to measure the holistic performance of the commercialization system.
  • Partner closely with the Business Operations Manager, defining and stepping across process boundaries.
  • Maintain a written record of judgment calls for inspectable reasoning.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Director of Commercial and executive leadership.
