About The Position

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is hiring an Analytics Engineer for the 2026 cycle. The Analytics Engineer will work on the DSCC’s data product pipelines, workflow automations, and other analytics tools that enable our understanding of battleground Senate races and operationalize key components of direct voter contact programming. They will also provide critical direct support to the DSCC’s key battleground states by supporting the rollout of dbt and orchestration tooling to state teams. This position reports to the Deputy National Data and Analytics Director.

Requirements

  • At least one cycle of political experience
  • Experience using workflow orchestration tools (i.e. Airflow)
  • Advanced experience in SQL, dbt preferred.
  • Advanced experience in Python or R
  • Experience automating API calls in a production environment
  • Familiarity (if not direct experience) with early vote data
  • Experience automating data ingestion, standardization, or QC processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Collaborative approach to working with other teams and partners, and openness to constructive feedback

Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain the DSCC’s suite of core data products, which will power reporting, targeting, and in-depth analyses.
  • Serve as an owner and subject matter expert of the DSCC’s dbt project and broader code repository. Create and enforce good developer standards that foster quality control, replication, and efficiency.
  • Design API-oriented workflows to facilitate the delivery of data between key systems (VAN, Google Sheets, etc.)
  • Maintain and improve the DSCC’s internal orchestration tooling, including enhanced CI/CD and anomaly detection.
  • Support vendors and staff in ingesting models and making them available across organizing tools and the DSCC’s data warehouse.
  • Support the DSCC’s early vote reporting, including:
  • Develop systems to ingest and standardize incoming AVEV results.
  • Create automated analysis tools to support understanding of early vote trends
  • Architect automated quality control systems to alert data stakeholders on the presence of anomalous data.
  • Produce clear documentation outlining technical systems. Provide concise and actionable training for new users as they onboard.
