About The Position

Awetomaton is seeking a full stack Analytics Engineer / Data Scientist to develop and implement data models that support cost analysis, reporting, and decision-making for an existing customer. In this role, you will transform raw data into accurate, well-structured datasets and build logic that enables clear, explainable insights for cost accounting and associated customer billing. The ideal candidate will have a BS degree or higher and have 5+ years of experience. This position can be performed out of St. Louis, MO (preferred) or Dayton, OH. Active Top Secret security clearance preferred. We are looking for a candidate to start in the mid- May 2026 timeframe.

Requirements

  • Strong data modeling and SQL skills
  • Experience building transformations that integrate cloud cost and usage data (billing reports such as AWS CUR 2.0)
  • Experience building transformations that integrate platform usage metrics (telemetry systems like Prometheus)
  • Experience building transformations that integrate customer, organizational, or billing metadata
  • Experience creating reusable data models (dbt or similar)
  • Familiarity with cloud cost data (AWS CUR 2.0, tagging, usage metrics)
  • Ability to translate business logic into deterministic code
  • Analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and reconciliation
  • Bachelor of Science in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline

Nice To Haves

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Master of Science in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data science, or related roles
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management, tagging strategies, and usage-based analytics
  • Background in working with federal government, Department of Defense, and/or the Intelligence Community
