About The Position

This is a prototyping and validation role sitting at the intersection of analytics and software development. You'll work directly with Clir's engineering and analytics teams to build, test, and iterate on analytical methods and tooling before they reach production. Think of yourself as the first line of rigor: you take an idea from a senior analyst or developer, implement it, stress-test it against real data, and help determine whether it's ready to scale. You won't just run analyses, you'll build the code that runs them. And you won't just write code, you'll understand what it's supposed to prove about a wind farm or solar asset. This role is ideal for a co-op student, recent graduate, or early-career professional who is equally comfortable with a Python script and a performance curve.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in at least one programming language, Python strongly preferred
  • An analytical mindset, comfortable working with messy data and finding what matters
  • Genuine curiosity about how things work, and why they sometimes don't
  • Clear written and verbal communication in English, you'll need to explain what you built and what you found
  • Comfort operating with some ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to renewable energy (wind or solar) even academic or personal interest counts
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, or similar)
  • Experience with version control (Git) and agile workflows
  • Knowledge of SQL, APIs, or workflow tools (e.g. Airflow)
  • Experience with Go, gRPC, or cloud-based data platforms
  • Additional language skills, we're a global team

Responsibilities

  • Prototype analytical tools and methods developed by the engineering and analytics teams, prior to production deployment
  • Implement automation scripts and workflows that support renewable energy analysts in their day-to-day work
  • Test analytical outputs against real asset data, validate logic, flag anomalies, document findings
  • Collaborate with senior developers and analysts to iterate quickly on prototypes based on feedback
  • Contribute to internal technical documentation for prototyped tools and methods
  • Participate in sprint planning and scoping to understand priorities and timelines
  • Surface practical observations from prototyping work that improve the final product

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work in an inclusive and diverse workplace
  • Be part of a team committed to reducing environmental impact and advancing renewable energy
  • Support for your professional growth and development
  • Flexible work schedule to help you maintain work-life balance
