This role involves collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams and primarily serving as an analytical thought partner in support of health equity initiatives and improvement efforts. The specialist will provide expertise to health equity-oriented analytics strategies and support the implementation, dissemination and adoption of the Health Equity Measurement Framework. The specialist is responsible for in-depth data discovery, curating and analyzing comprehensive healthcare data to reveal impactful insights and support data-driven decision making and improvements. They translate complex business questions into effective analytics solutions, such as Business Intelligence reports, statistical models or interactive data visualizations, serving as a steward of data integrity and best practices. With a high sense of curiosity and keen attention to detail, the specialist integrates project management and improvement science to interpret analytic findings, communicate insights effectively, and support clinical performance improvement. The specialist identifies opportunities for improvement via evidence-based practices, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, and current performance in Quality, Safety, Service and Equity Key Performance Indicators. The specialist will collaborate with various business units for key elements of SMCH’s Quality portfolio. Some examples include Clinical Effectiveness Programs; Quality Improvement; Performance Improvement; Patient Safety; Peer Review function; Infection Prevention & Control; Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance; Patient & Family Experience; Health Equity; IS-Analytics; IS-Clinical Informatics, Financial Planning & Decision Support and various Patient Care Service lines/units/clinics.
