Analytical Protein Chemist
About The Position
The Analytical Protein Chemist supports general analytical methods for characterizing purified proteins and antibodies, including assessing titer, concentration, purity, and relevant biophysical properties. The role prepares buffers and samples and acquires data using HPLCs and other relevant equipment. It also supports instrument maintenance and calibration and performs basic troubleshooting as needed. The chemist works collaboratively with the Lilly PBS team on-site to support smooth operation of laboratory instruments and meet research objectives and timelines. The role includes analyzing and capturing experimental results in an E-notebook and sharing data in a timely manner. Routine laboratory work requires attention to detail and precision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a similar discipline.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory activities, including making buffers, performing calculations, documenting experiments, and analyzing data.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with basic protein analytical characterization techniques and familiarity with HPLCs are highly desirable.
- Experience with biophysical assays and other analytical techniques is a plus.
