About The Position

The role of Analytical Laboratory Supervisor is to provide support to the Analytical department by providing management and direction to a group of laboratory technicians, overseeing daily operations to monitor testing on ingredients at in process and finished product, and assist in preparation and implementation of laboratory procedures and test methods, quality systems and training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science related or engineering discipline, ie chemistry
  • Three years management experience in the food, pharmaceutical, biotech or analytical laboratory industries is desirable
  • Direct supervisory experience with strong people management skills
  • Full understanding of GMP/ FDA requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of a wide range of techniques such as HPLC, ICP
  • Very good understanding of the Laboratory Analytical requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a high-performance team

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of laboratory technicians, including recruitment, onboarding, training, goal setting, and performance management
  • Plan, allocate, and manage laboratory resources and schedules, including oversight of the Kronos Time and Attendance system
  • Coordinate and prioritize internal and third-party laboratory testing to meet release timelines, market demands, and performance metrics
  • Review and approve batch documentation, including audit trails, and authorize test results in LIMS
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with SOPs, GMP, EHS, and quality standards; review SOPs regularly and ensure team adherence
  • Develop, update, and implement QA procedures, SOPs, and analytical test methods; lead periodic reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee in-process, finished product, and incoming ingredient analytical testing
  • Maintain equipment reliability by ensuring timely preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and coordination of repairs
  • Support laboratory-related investigations (LIRs, QRs), identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Support key laboratory projects, including method transfers, new equipment implementation, validation, and data integrity initiatives
  • Maintain accurate training curricula in Compliance Wire aligned with laboratory roles and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally by participating in daily process meetings and maintaining strong communication with operations
