About The Position

The Analytical Lab Analyst I is responsible for performing fundamental analysis, evaluation, and release of raw materials. This includes utilizing various instruments such as: UV/Vis spectrophotometer, FTIR, Karl Fischer titrator, pH Meter, Viscometer, Colorimeter, Densitometer, Refractometer, Titrations, and Other wet chemistry techniques. All analyses must be conducted in accordance with the approved analytical test methods before materials are shipped or utilized in filling or manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will need to conduct OOS lab investigations, inform management of critical issues, and suggest opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, preferably B.S./M.S. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with various laboratory instruments, including UV/Vis spectrophotometers, FTIR, Karl Fischer titrators, pH meters, viscometers, colorimeters, densitometers, refractometers, titrations, and other wet chemistry techniques.
  • Ability to define all sensory product attributes—such as color, odor, and appearance evaluation.
  • Solid understanding and adherence to safe laboratory practices.
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing techniques, including GMP, GDP, and Good Lab Practices.
  • Ability to follow good documentation practices and accurately document analytical tests in lab notebooks in a timely manner.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively relay information to management.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cosmetic ingredients and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP systems.
