About The Position

Exponent is seeking an Analytical Environmental Senior Scientist for its Environmental & Earth Sciences Practice. This role will be based in Natick, MA; Burlington, MA; Bellevue, WA; Pasadena, CA; or Oakland, CA, with other locations considered. The Senior Scientist will work as part of a team to provide technical analysis of analytical laboratory data packages and support data management for existing projects and business development efforts. The position involves supporting multidisciplinary project teams on complex environmental and regulatory compliance issues, environmental assessment, remediation, and environmental forensics. Responsibilities include synthesizing technical information, preparing and reviewing reports and presentations, collaborating with internal teams, developing client relationships, and building business within the practice. Professional development is encouraged through conference presentations, journal publications, and expanding professional visibility.

Requirements

  • M.S. (with at least three (3) years of relevant experience), or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Toxicology, or a related field
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a compliance laboratory with QA/QC and data validation of analytical laboratory data packages from LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and similar analytical instrumentation
  • Strong interest in career and professional development within a dynamic consulting environment
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.

  • Significant hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and similar analytical instruments

Responsibilities

  • Supporting multidisciplinary project teams on complex, challenging problems related to environmental and regulatory compliance and/or environmental assessment, remediation, and environmental forensics
  • Synthesizing technical information and applying critical thinking to prepare and review reports and technical presentations
  • Working cooperatively on projects with other members of the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary groups from other Exponent practices as appropriate
