We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Entry-Level Quality Control (QC) Analytical Chemist to join our team in a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory at our Lonza site in Bend, Oregon. In this role, you will perform routine analytical testing and basic laboratory operations to ensure our raw materials and finished products meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Foundational understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and cGMP regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and basic troubleshooting capabilities for analytical instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and electronic laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS).

Responsibilities

  • Execute testing for the release of raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished products, as well as execute sampling and testing of cleaning validation samples
  • Perform basic wet chemistry and laboratory operations while strictly adhering to safety and cGMP protocols.
  • Safely operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, Dissolution, etc.) to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Assist in the development, validation, and/or transfer of analytical methods under the direct supervision of senior chemists.
  • Maintain accurate, ALCOA-compliant records and ensure thorough peer-review of laboratory notebooks.
  • Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Testing Protocols (BTPs), and validation protocols (BTP-VALs) under direct supervision.
  • Support laboratory compliance during internal and external audits by maintaining a clean, audit-ready work environment.
