We’re seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our environmental laboratory team in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality analytical results while working hands-on with advanced instrumentation such as GC-MS and LC-MS/MS. You’ll interpret complex analytical data, troubleshoot methods and instrumentation, support method development and optimization, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the laboratory. You’ll also help maintain strong QA/QC standards, investigate issues through root cause analysis and corrective action, and ensure results are accurate, defensible, and compliant with established requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related scientific field
  • 5+ years of professional hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, including GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and related systems
  • Demonstrated experience with QA/QC analysis, analytical data review, root cause analysis, corrective action, method development, and CAPA
  • Proficient in LIMS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Perform organic analysis using GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and other applicable analytical instrumentation and methodologies
  • Generate accurate, defensible data in compliance with QA/QC standards and client requirements
  • Document and manage analytical data in LIMS, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance
  • Support method development, validation, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and analytical methods, and support investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Perform instrument calibrations, quality control checks, and preventative maintenance
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation and response to findings
  • Develop, review, and update SOPs to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with training and supporting laboratory staff on methods, instrumentation, and procedures
  • Communicate analytical results and provide technical interpretation as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support laboratory and client needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
