At Adair, you’ll play a vital role in the startup of a site built for innovation and excellence, from installation and qualification to regulatory approval and commercial manufacturing. Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the Analytical Analyst is responsible for coordinating and performing laboratory activities/projects including performing analysis of raw materials, finished product and stability samples using instrumental and wet chemistry methods. The Analytical Analyst is part of a scientific team that assists in the advancement of pharmaceutical products produced by the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Chemistry, or related field is required.
  • Formal laboratory investigation report writing, report writing in general validations and Empower software experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve quality issues, optimize quality systems and processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming the Canadian equivalency of the credentials as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES.

  • While performing job duties, the employee must be able to communicate effectively, sit for extended periods, and use manual dexterity to operate a computer and office equipment.
  • Occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required.
  • Close vision is required.
  • The role may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals; employees are expected to follow all applicable safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience as a lab analyst is preferred
  • experience working in a pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Have detailed knowledge and be able to conduct Finished Product QC release testing and testing of raw materials, as required by the role with daily supervision as required using techniques such as Balances, pH meter, UV, Karl Fisher, FT-IR, TLS, Dissolution, HPLC (to include degradation analysis), Coulometric Karl Fisher, including basic trouble shooting.
  • Calibrate and maintain instruments according to relevant SOPs.
  • Maintain adequate levels of laboratory supplies.
  • Maintain laboratory environment in a safe and clean manner such as laboratory/equipment cleaning, glassware washing, storing of supplies, etc.
  • Train, advise and assist laboratory personnel as required (e.g. methods, procedures, tests, etc.).
  • Must be able work extended hours, weekends as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
  • Consistently perform all tasks with a safety-first mindset by following established policies and procedures, applying the STAR (Stop, Think, Assess, Respond) method for thoughtful execution, and ensuring full compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations while proactively addressing and leading safety improvements.
  • Carry out work in a manner that protects the environment and supports Catalent's environmental policies and sustainability goals.
  • Perform other duties as required
