About The Position

The Analyst will support the team in structuring, revising, and operationalizing the data governance model to support the deployment of the data strategy, particularly the implementation of the data product approach. The Analyst will be responsible for analyzing stakeholder requests and needs, synthesizing issues, guiding service proposals, and producing governance deliverables to clarify roles, responsibilities, processes, and steering mechanisms. They will also contribute to strengthening the management of data quality issues, including data quality assessment, issue prioritization, and defining a more effective monitoring method. The Analyst will work in collaboration with business sectors, data and analytics solution teams, technology teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment, consistency, and applicability of the proposed recommendations.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience in data governance, data quality, data strategy, data management, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in revising, implementing, or operationalizing data governance models.
  • Experience in needs analysis, synthesizing complex issues, and formulating concrete recommendations.
  • Experience in producing governance deliverables, such as recommendations, definitions, reference frameworks, processes, roles and responsibilities, operational models, action plans, or monitoring mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of data quality practices, including assessment, prioritization, monitoring, and resolution of quality issues.
  • Good understanding of data domain approaches, data products, semantic products, metadata, traceability, and data accountability.
  • Experience in a complex organizational environment involving business, technological, and analytical stakeholders.
  • Ability to structure and lead meetings or workshops with multidisciplinary and multi-level stakeholders.
  • Very good communication, influence, synthesis, and popularization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files in parallel and work in a context of evolving priorities.
  • Excellent communication in French and English. English is required, as the position requires communication with clients and partners located outside Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requests, needs, and issues expressed by business sectors and internal stakeholders regarding data governance, quality, and value creation.
  • Synthesize issues, dependencies, risks, and priorities to guide decisions and work to be done.
  • Contribute to the definition and structuring of service proposals to be provided by the Data Governance and Value Creation team.
  • Produce governance deliverables, including recommendations, definitions, reference frameworks, processes, roles and responsibilities, monitoring mechanisms, and summary documents.
  • Support the revision and operationalization of the data governance model in line with the data strategy and the data product approach.
  • Clarify responsibilities between the central governance team, data and analytics solution teams, technology teams, and business sectors.
  • Contribute to the assessment of data quality and the structuring of the management of identified issues.
  • Propose mechanisms for prioritizing, monitoring, and steering data quality issues.
  • Support the implementation of governance practices applicable to data products, particularly regarding quality, definitions, metadata, traceability, accountability, and reporting.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with multidisciplinary and multi-level stakeholders.
  • Document analyses, decisions, recommendations, and deliverables produced.
  • Promote the consistent application of data governance principles, standards, and practices established by the organization.
