About The Position

We are looking for someone eager to seize exciting new opportunities as a Financial Analyst - General Expenses for our expanding team at the head office located in Boucherville. The selected individual will be dynamic, client-focused, autonomous, and possess experience in the automotive aftermarket sector. The Financial Analyst - General Expenses will play a strategic role in supporting and optimizing Uni-Select's financial operations by providing in-depth financial analysis and reliable reporting. This position requires a rigorous and analytical professional with strong expertise in US GAAP accounting principles, general accounting, and operational expense analysis. The successful candidate will report to the Manager - Finance and Accounting, work closely with the entire finance team, and act as a technical resource for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the company's operational expenses. They will support operational teams and management by providing accurate financial analyses, forecasts, and recommendations aimed at improving performance and cost control.

Requirements

  • B.A.C. in accounting, CPA designation is an asset
  • 4 to 5 years of experience in accounting or related roles
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual (English and French) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure monthly monitoring of operational expenses (OPEX) versus budget and forecasts
  • Analyze variances and explain fluctuations (volume, price, timing, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure good cost management
  • Participate in the monthly closing for general expenses
  • Identify optimization and savings opportunities
  • Ensure detailed monitoring of head office expenses
  • Validate the correct classification of expenses (CAPEX vs OPEX)
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of financial data
  • Participate in the improvement of OPEX monitoring processes and tools
  • Collaborate with financial, operational, and external teams to ensure information accuracy and consistency
  • Contribute to ad hoc analyses and special projects
